Happy Black History Month they said!

My 7-year-old son asked me last week after dinner why Black History Month was never mentioned by the professors when we were already studying Ramadan.

I said that Black History Month cannot be confined to a single month and that every month should be observed as Black History Month. I made the decision to hold off on going any farther until he had a greater grasp of the social and political ramifications involved.

I’m glad he asked even though that was unexpected.

Speaking of Black History Month, research have indicated that while black spending power has increased to a record $1.6 trillion, racial net worth has decreased by 14%.

For my fellow black people, we owe it to the next generation to demonstrate that just because we have more money, we don’t necessarily have to spend it all. There are more effective ways to spend your hard-earned money.

By demonstrating to my children and the younger generation that you don’t always have to be a consumer but can also be a producer, creator, and person of service, I’m truly doing my part.

Dividends for February 2023

I got $0.71 more than I did at same time last year. As a buy-and-hold investor, I am certain that at least one of the companies whose stock I own has reduced its dividends.

February Expenses

$1993.68 was my spending for that month. I did not purchase any cigars for the month of February which can explain why Other is $23.12 for that month.
