MARCH 2024: DIVIDEND INCOME AND EXPENSES

Welcome to the second quarter. How’s everyone doing? I can’t wait to wake up and enjoy my coffee outside on the deck.

For the month of March, my focus has been on working on small projects around the house, such as:

. Removing the carpets. If we don’t remove it soon, one of us is bound to end up with our face against the wall any day now.
. Planning the gardening layout. I’m looking to plant some greens this year; it would have been an easy task, but with the number of rabbits and deer around, my greens and veggies won’t stand a chance.

In addition, I’m minimizing my spending as much as possible to stabilize my savings account after paying for the trip. So I’m hoping for no expense surprises before our summer trip—fingers and toes crossed!

On the finance side, we had a good month. The stock market has been amazing, and as a buy-and-hold type of investor, I’m prepared for it to rebalance at any time soon.

March 2024 Expenses

Mortgage$2000

Restaurant$13.17
Travel/Tolls$1.12
Mobile Phone$0
Internet$106.99

For those who’ve been asking how I manage to spend so little on food, let me clarify: when it comes to things like food shopping and holiday presents, my wife takes care of those because she’s better at it than me. Otherwise, we’d be broke. That’s one thing I don’t have the patience for.

Dividends for March 2024

In March 2024, I received $91.36 in dividend income from six different companies. This marks an increase of $18.08 compared to last March.

Health

Last week, I lost my childhood best friend, who was like a brother to me, due to a health complication. He was only 42 years old. I’m using this loss as motivation to remind myself every day to live life fully and take care of my health.

Since I stopped working my part-time job, I’ve gained thirteen pounds. That’s one of the downsides of working from home. I don’t see myself joining a gym membership, so I’m considering purchasing some exercise gear and working out at home.

March 2024 Summary

It was a great month financially, but also one that I’ll never forget. I look forward to the month ahead.
